Sakthi Vasu, son of veteran film-maker P. Vasu, is smart and has a good onscreen presence of mind. He does appear to possess all the traits a successful ‘hero’ requires. Yet, luck is eluding him and he hopes his upcoming film Padam Pesum, wherein he has been paired opposite Poorna, would turn things in his favour.
Director D.S. Ramesh Selvan has opted out of the responsibility of directing the upcoming film titled as Thalaivan starring BAS. The director has issued a signed statement in this regard wherein he has cited his ‘health reasons’ as the factors which has led him to opt out of the film.
“I debuted as director with Vijayakanth’s Ulavuthurai and also made Arun Vijay’s Jananam. At present, I’m making a film titled Kalavaram which is nearing completion. In the meantime, I got the offer to direct Thalaivan for which I worked round-the-clock. Due to the over load, I couldn’t take proper care of my health resulting in diabetes and other disorders such as blood pressure and stress.
“I have been advised by my doctor to take it easy and therefore, I have decided to opt myself out of completing the film Thalaivan. The decision, as elaborated earlier, is based purely on medical grounds. I’m issuing a statement to inform my friends in the print and television media,” the statement concluded.
But it could very likely be a decision taken to stay away from his hero BAS(TTV Bhaskaran),nephew of Sasikala, who is behind bars in connection with a case of cheating.
