There is some good news for all those die-hard fans of Shruti Haasan, the sizzler who has been rattling Hindi and Telugu film audiences these days. Shruti is happy that her latest Telugu film Balupu, which released last Friday, has just been declared a hit. She was paired opposite Ravi Teja in the film which also has Anjali as the second heroine.
Speaking to scribes recently, Shruti said that she would only be marrying a guy who would encourage her to continue to act in films even after marriage. Shruti, born to the legendary Kamal Haasan and the talented Sarika, has finally found her own identity in films with successive hits in Telugu and a list of promising films lined up in Hindi. She doesn’t mind starring in glamour-filled roles if the script(s) so demanded.
The promotional stills of her upcoming Bollywood film D-Day have raised quite a few controversies. Shruti, who plays a sex-worker in the film and who has posed for some ‘hot photographs’ in the film, is under fire for ‘stretching’ glamour a bit too far. Replying to queries, Shruti says “Actresses are always looked at in a negative manner. They ought to ensure that they fit their on-screen characters appropriately.
“Likewise, all I did was to perfectly ‘fit into the sex-worker’s role I play in D-Day. I don’t think I need to elaborate further on this. I want to continue to star in films as long as possible. As far as marriage is concerned, it would only be with a guy who allows me to continue to star in films even after marriage. He has to be compassionate and show the necessary understanding,” concludes Shruti.
