Actor Vishal has regretted his displeasure at getting treated in an arbitrary manner by Vendhar Movies, which has become one of the leading film distributors in Kollywood in recent times.
Films acquired for distribution and release by Vendhar Movies in recent times include Vijay starrer Thalaivaa and Ajith’s upcoming (as yet untitled) film opposite Nayanthara which has been directed by Vishnuvardhan. Trouble started when talks were initiated by producers of Vishal’s upcoming film Pattathu Yaanai which marks the debut as heroine in Kollywood of Aishwarya, daughter of ‘action king’ Arjun.
Vendhar Movies reportedly acquired the release rights of Ajith’s and Vijay’s films without watching them even once. However, during negotiation with makers of Vishal’s Pattathu Yaanai, the distributors are said to have insisted on watching the film first before making a decision on acquiring the film’s distribution rights. This didn’t go down well with Vishal who protested against this.
“When you can acquire the rights of Ajith and Vijay’s films without watching them, why can’t you do the same with me?” was Vishal’s poser to the distributor who reportedly told him that those two heroes had fans cutting across all age barriers.
While Vishal tries with this stunt, it would leave one amazed, as to while his producer Michael Rayappan, is a close associate to Ayngaran International, why go out of the house.
