The Chennai High Court has directed the Chennai Police to produce actress Anjali in Court on 9th July. The direction has been given to the police by the Court in connection with a habeas corpus petition filed by Anjali’s Aunt Bharathi Devi a couple of months back when Anjali walked out of her Chennai residence complaining that Devi was in the process of swindling her hard-earned money and properties.
Though Anjali did come out from hiding and even resumed her regular shooting schedule. And recently both Anjali and Bharathi devi were spotted together. But that does not put an end to the petition filed at the high Court, as the case was reopened yesterday.
The court had earlier directed the police to produce the actress before May 24, but she has not still been produced before the court questioned the judge. The police, however, said Anjali was safe and it ought more time to produce south Indian film actress Anjali in the court. Following the argument and the trial, the Court warned Anjali to take cognizance of the Court’s proceedings else it would be a contempt. She was also warned that in case she failed to appear before the Court, arrest warrants would be issued against her.
