Premji Amaren is expanding his horizons in acting by foraying into the Malayalam film industry. The 34-year old burly star is making his acting debut in Malayalam through North 24 Kaatham directed by debutant Anil Radhakrishna Menon.
Starring Fahadh Faasil and Swati Reddy in lead roles, North 24 Kaatham is billed as a ‘travelling’ story but Menon insists it’s more than a travelogue. Competent in many spheres like his illustrious father, Premji is said to be nursing long-term ambitions to turn into a full-time music director. He also plans to direct films in future.
Premji, a regular in all films made by his elder brother and film-maker Venkat Prabhu, has his own brand of comedy but is still to garner as much fame as a Vadivelu or a Santhanam. He now makes his debut in Malayalam and is said to be very excited about it.
Menon, who has directed the film, says “Though Premji has done not a major role, it was a very enjoyable experience for us to have worked with him. I’m sure we would be working together in future too!”
