Suriya’s much-awaited Singam-2 hits the screens all over the State and elsewhere including many cinema halls abroad today. Sequel to Singam made under the combination of Suriya and Hari more than three years back, Singam-2 promises to be equally, thrilling to the first part.

In order to maintain the continuity, Hari has repeated most of the cast from the first part. Anushka is the heroine in both the parts while Hansika’s character has been inserted in the second version. Vivek, who was the solo comedian in Singam, has Santhanam for company in Singam-2. Prakash Raj is another notable artiste missing in the sequel and has been replaced by Danny Sapani, a Ghanaian actor.


Hari has said that Anushka and Hansika shared warm vibes between them during the shoot and never once fought over as to who would be getting maximum screen footage. Films starring two heroines are rampant with stories of these heroines fighting among themselves and with the director over who gets the maximum screen space. “No such clash took place whatsoever as both of them have been treated equally,” says Hari. “One of the highlights of the film is the daredevilry displayed by Surya during the filming of stunt sequences. Despite the advice of stuntmen to use a body duplicate, Suriya insisted that he would perform the risky stunts on his own and eventually went ahead and did so. The sequence where Suriya chases the goons by a motor boat in the mid-seas would be an edge-of-the-seat thriller,” Hari explained.
