Following up in their philanthropic spirit , this duo has now stepped forth to spread light on the helplessness of thousands who were washed away in the devastating Uttarkhand floods, which swept across north India recently. The heavy rains triggered flash floods and massive landslides which left many stranded and in fact, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh announced an aid of Rs 1,000 crore to the victims. Doing their bit, Suriya and Karthi too have managed to pool in Rs 10 lakhs to the national fund.
A representative of the Agaram foundation said “Our prayers go out to all those who have lost their near and dear ones in the natural calamity that hit Uttarkhand at a time least expected. We are aware that many children are at the mercy of help as they have no family or home to call their own. We hope our contributions through Agaram Foundation would help them, as it is the very least we could do.”
Meanwhile, Suriya tensely awaits the release of his upcoming flick – Singam 2. Likewise, Karthi too is looking forward to Biriyani and All in All Azhagu Raja’s release.
