Producers Ambeth kumar and Ranjeev Menon, who produced last year’s successful Manam Kothi Paravai, are coming together again in producing a new film titled Pappali. Produced on behalf of their Arasur Movies, Pappali has Senthil, who plays the lead role in the popular soap Saravanan Meenakshi, essaying the hero opposite Ishara.
Saranya Ponvannan, the national award-winning actress, essays a prominent role in the film which also has Ilavarasu, ‘Aadukalam’ Naren, Singampuli, Krishnamurthy, Jagan and Nirosha (in a guest appearance). Vijay is the cinematographer while Vijay Ebinezer has scored the film’s music which has all the lyrics penned by Yugabarathy.
Govinda Murthy, who has directed a couple of successful films in Karuppusamy Kuththagaithaarar and Vedigundu Murugesan, is the director of Pappali. Murthy assures that the film would be a laugh riot. “We have mixed 75% comedy and 25% sentiment in the script which looks at the ‘other side’ of the life of a small-time snacks seller on the streets.
“The vendor studies hard and rises to become an IAS officer by his sheer hard-work. It hardly matters as to where from we start off in our lives; what matters is that we should reach our destination at the right time. The film drives home the positive message that patience and perseverance can help achieve anything in life,” concludes Murthy.
